About Us – Powering Pakistan’s Electric Mobility Revolution
ridewave was founded in 2021 by transportation innovator Adeel Khan and sustainability advocate Mariam Ahmed, driven by a vision to reduce urban congestion and cut air pollution through micromobility solutions. Beginning with a pilot fleet of 50 e-scooters in Karachi, we quickly demonstrated the convenience and environmental benefits of electric rentals. Positive user feedback and strong partnerships with local municipalities propelled our expansion to Lahore and Islamabad in 2022, followed by Multan and Rawalpindi in early 2023.
Headquartered in Karachi’s tech corridor, ridewave’s multidisciplinary team of engineers, urban planners, and customer-experience specialists built a robust platform integrating real-time vehicle diagnostics, dynamic pricing algorithms, and geo-fencing technology. Our vehicles—sourced from leading EV manufacturers—undergo daily inspections, GPS telemetry monitoring, and deep-clean sanitization after each use. To ensure reliability, our battery-swap network stations are strategically located at major transit hubs, coworking spaces, and shopping centers, enabling quick on-site swaps that extend range without downtime.
Accessibility and inclusivity are cornerstones of ridewave’s mission. Our app supports English and Urdu interfaces, and helmets and safety vests are provided with every rental at no extra charge. In-app tutorials cover riding etiquette, local traffic rules, and basic maintenance checks, helping new riders feel confident from their first trip. Recognizing Pakistan’s diverse infrastructure, we engineered shock-absorbing suspension systems and puncture-resistant tires to navigate both smooth avenues and rougher side streets comfortably.
Beyond rentals, ridewave actively engages with communities and city authorities to promote infrastructure development, such as dedicated EV lanes and curbside parking zones. We collaborate with universities to host “Green Commute” workshops and sponsor technical scholarships for students researching sustainable transport. In 2024, ridewave joined the Pakistan Electric Vehicles Association, contributing to national policy recommendations on EV incentives and charging infrastructure standards.
Today, ridewave empowers tens of thousands of riders daily—commuters, students, and tourists alike—to experience a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient way to move through Pakistan’s urban landscapes. Our commitment to transparency, safety, and innovation ensures that ridewave remains the go-to choice for hassle-free, eco-friendly micromobility. Join us as we redefine urban travel—one electric ride at a time.
